TUITION AND BILLING:
*The Administrative Fee (charged per student) includes: piano books and sheet music; teaching materials such as manipulatives, incentives, and games; ink and paper costs for printing worksheets and materials; student materials such as binders, pencils, and flashcards; recital costs such as facility rental and program printing; etc. The Admin Fee may be paid in monthly installments or annually, whichever your preference.
- 30 minute private lesson - $110 per month
- 45 minute private lesson (older students only) - $165 per month
- Administrative Fee (all students) - $60 annually or $5 per month*
- The monthly tuition fee remains flat no matter the number of lessons attended. Tuition holds the student’s place in my studio.
- Tuition may be paid online, or by check, cash, or auto bill pay. Upon enrollment, you will gain access to online payment and scheduling.
- Tuition is due by the 10th of the month. Payment received after the 10th will incur a $15 late charge.
- A delinquent account (more than 30 days past due) will result in temporary suspension of lessons. If you need to request consideration regarding financial matters, I am always happy to work with you to find a solution that works for your situation.
- Tuition is based on 32 lessons during the school year. Major holidays, months with 5 lessons, and special lessons (such as audition coaching) are factored into the tuition rates. Therefore, holiday weeks are not made up, and 5th week or special lessons are not charged extra. Summer lessons are billed separately.

LESSON STRUCTURE and CALENDAR:
- Piano lessons are private one-on-one sessions, held in my home studio once a week. Sessions include work in piano technique, rhythm, and music theory within the context of the student's repertoire. A variety of activities and games are utilized, and programming is tailored to the student's musical interests.
- Families with two or three sibilings in lessons may request back to back sessions, schedules permitting. Special arrangments may be made for an overlapping or rotating format, based on the needs of the children.
- There are no lessons during major holiday weeks such as Thanksgiving, winter break, and spring break. There will be lessons on other days such as President's Day, Veteran's Day, MLK Day, early school dismissals, etc. You may request a reschedule in advance if you know you will be gone. Students will receive a specific calendar of dates upon registration.
MAKE UP LESSONS:
- WITH 24 hours notice, you will receive a make up credit.
- WITHOUT 24 hours notice, no make-up will be provided.
- A student may accumulate a maximum of 2 make up credits at any given time.
- Make-up credits not used within 3 months will be forfeited.
- Make up credits may be used in one of three ways:
- You may do a real-time video lesson DURING your usual lesson slot.
- You may do a video exchange lesson, with teacher and student exchanging recordings.
- You may sign up for a make up lesson via MyMusicStaff, pending availability (on selected makeup days, or if another student has cancelled).
- If I have to cancel a lesson I will automatically issue you a monetary credit.
- Current students may visit the Studio Info page for more information on make ups.
OTHER INFORMATION:
- A piano or keyboard in the home is needed for the student’s success. While an acoustic piano is optimum, a full sized keyboard (88 keys) also works. Young children may start on a smaller keyboard if need be, although if they continue with lessons they will eventually become restricted by a limited number of keys. PianoBuyer.com has good information about both acoustic and digital options.
- Music books, an assignment folder, and supplementary materials will be provided for each individual based on their skill level and musical preferences. These on-going costs are included in the annual Admin Fee.
- Students should bring all materials with them to each lesson (including online lessons). Failure to do so may result in that lesson being shortened or cancelled, with no make-up.
- When teaching, I am completely focused on the student and will not respond to calls or texts. However, if you are running late or need to cancel last minute, please text me and I will view it during a break.
- Students MUST practice at home during the week in order to progress. A new language is difficult to learn in only 30 minutes a week. The assignment folder will help both students and parents know what is expected. Current students may visit the Studio Info page for more thoughts on piano practice.
- Use of a metronome is required for all levels, to develop good beat and rhythm skills. A metronome can be purchased at a reasonable price, or the student may utilize a metronome app or online site for free.
- Recitals are held once or twice a year. All students, regardless of level, are asked to participate. The recital is a relaxed event and intended to promote the joys of sharing music with others and taking pride in our accomplishments.
